Moisture content and temperature of storage in peach palm seed conservation

چکیده
ABSTRACT: The peach palm (Bactrisgasipaes) is an important alternative for heart-of-palm extraction, showing precocity, rusticity and high tillering. seeds of this species are considered recalcitrant making storage long periods production seedlings difficulty. This identified a combination moisture content temperature during longer seed longevity. Seeds with 35% 45% (wet basis - wb) were at 20 °C 25 ºC 180 days. evaluations carried out every 60 days by the germination test, emergence in sand, shoot length, diameter stem, dry matter, root matter content. It was observed that wb showed better performance storage. provides higher quality maintenance. Peach maintain their viability 120 when stored ºC.

Impact of Storage Fungi on Soybean Seed Deterioration in Different Storage Conditions and Seed Moisture Content
DOR: 98.1000/2383-1251.1398.6.65.11.1. 1578.1585 Extended Abstract Introduction: Understanding the complex characteristics that control the life span of the seed has ecological, agricultural and economic importance. Inappropriate storage conditions after harvesting destroy a large part of annual yield partly due to microbial activity in the storage. Damage from storage fungi varies based ...
متن کاملTemperature sensitivity of the low-moisture-content limit to negative seed longevity--moisture content relationships in hermetic storage.
UNLABELLED BACKGROUND AND AIMS The negative logarithmic relationship between orthodox seed longevity and moisture content in hermetic storage is subject to a low-moisture-content limit (m(c)), but is m(c) affected by temperature? METHODS Red clover (Trifolium pratense) and alfalfa (Medicago sativa) seeds were stored hermetically at 12 moisture contents (2-15 %) and five temperatures (-20, 30,...
متن کاملMoisture content, temperature, and relative humidity influence seed storage and subsequent survival and germination of Vallisneria americana seeds
Loss of aquatic plant species has occurred in coastal and freshwater habitats throughout the world. In particular, population and habit loss of the submerged aquatic species, Vallisneria americana Michx., have made it a potential restoration candidate. For successful restoration, reliable seed sources are vital for producing plants or for direct seeding. Seed survival and their ability to retai...
متن کاملRheological and Physicochemical Properties of Honeys as a Function of Temperature, Concentration and Moisture Content
In this study the rheological and physicochemical properties of four types of honeys, two poly floral (Mountain, Forest) and two mono floral (Sunflower, Ivy), were investigated. Rheological characteristics of honeys were evaluated at different temperatures (10, 15, 20, 25 and 30ºC). All the honeys exhibited Newtonian behavior for shear rate in the range of 1.045-41.8 s-1. The viscosity of sampl...
متن کاملThe effect of germination temperature on antioxidant enzymes activities and seed germination of Prangos ferulacea Seeds harvested at different seed moisture content
Prangos ferulacea is a plant from the umbeliferae family that is propagated by seed germination. In order to investigate the effects of seed ripening and germination temperature on germination and some antioxidant enzymes activity of this plant seed, a two-factor factorial experiment was carried out in a completely randomized design with three replications in the laboratory of Seed Sciences and...
